Life May Be Better Than You Think

the journey is the destination

“He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless.” Proverbs 2:7

“And David had success in all his undertakings, for the Lord was with him.” 1 Samuel 18:14

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” ~ Winston Churchill

The journey really is the destination, if that makes sense. How else would we be able to experience different life lessons, learn from them and move on? In today’s chaotic world of deadlines, commitments, errands and keeping it all together, you may tend to think you are a failure. You might even be disappointed for not being further along on your life path BUT let us pause for a moment and do some self searching because you might just be a little more successful than you think.

First however, a disclaimer: being successful does not automatically equate to the amount of cash in your bank account, the size of your house or your car, or how high you may be sitting on the corporate totem pole …  With that out of the way and to reinforce a better concept of success, here are 20 Signs You’re Succeeding In Life Even If You Don’t Feel You Are written by Carol Morgan on www.lifehack.org and after reading leave me a comment or two letting me know just how successful you really are right about now. Someone in your family or a friend who needs to be reminded how successful they are? Share this post so they will know for sure!

Excerpt

“We all feel like failures from time to time. While this is a normal feeling, you have to find a way to see yourself and your life from a different perspective. Sometimes we ignore the “little things.” Just because you are not a millionaire, don’t live in a mansion, and you don’t drive a fancy car, that doesn’t mean you’re a failure. In fact, it’s quite the contrary.

Here are 20 signs that you are succeeding in life:

1. Your relationships are less dramatic than they used to be.
Drama is not maturity. As we age, we should develop maturity. So maybe your relationships were drama-filled in your past, but if you have moved beyond that, then you are successful.

2. You are not afraid to ask for help and support any more.
Asking for help does not equal weakness. In fact, it is a strength. No person has ever succeeded in isolation. It takes teamwork to accomplish goals. Asking or help is a sign that you have grown as a person.

3. You have raised your standards.
You don’t tolerate bad behavior any more – from other people, or even yourself. You hold people accountable for their actions. You don’t spend time with the “energy vampires” in your life anymore.”  Read more ….

Yeah for the weekend!

Ever wondered what successful people occupy themselves with on weekends? We all feel they work lots of overtime Monday to Friday, but what happens on Saturday and Sunday? Do they go into the office? Do they go to church? Maybe take a drive into the country after checking e-mail and setting up meetings for the coming week?  I actually thought they took quick trips to exotic islands in the Caribbean) either via their private yacht or jet) with family and friends … but it seems as though I was wrong.

So let’s take a real look (thanks to www.goweloveit.info) at what a few well-known successful men and women – Warren Buffet, Bill Gates & Oprah for starters – do to recharge and regroup after a hard week at work.  Click here to learn about the: 12 Weekend Habits of Highly Successful People and listen, if these super busy individuals can enjoy their weekends to the max then so can I … wish me luck!
