Looking at You (aka Reflecting)

REFLECTING

I look at you
sometimes more than
once in a single day
eyes fully open
not wanting to miss
one single moment,
straining to really see
how much of me
is growing
with you, in you;
not wanting you to be me
(not at all!)
but acknowledging all
that I could ever wish for
is already there … within you …
my most amazing work of art.

“A work of art is a world in itself reflecting senses and emotions of the artist’s world.”
~ Hans Hofmann

“Only mothers can think of the future – because they give birth to it in their children.”

Some Days I Am Just Too Tired

Tired of feeling tired? God knows and He is with you. Know someone who may be tired too? Then pass this on, especially if it has helped you to feel a little less tired than usual 🙂

This Journey Called Life

road humps ahead, life challenges

THE JOURNEY

Life is like a long journey
Over mountains, valleys and plains
A tide of emotional feelings
Of joy and sorrow and pain.

We walk through a world of exploiters
Who never have time to care
Yet we pause on our long hard trek
To reach out, to touch and to share.

In spite of the deep dark traps
Which hide along the path
We know that the end of the rainbow
Will offer rewards that last.

Relinquish then not the sweet nectar of life
For fear you miss out on its gains
While harsh as a thorn, yet soft as a rose
We will cherish the walk through the rain.

And so we prevail through the pain and despair
Trusting in a magical light
A star it may be, or even the sun
That leads the way out of the night.

After This Life

“Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.” William Penn

I admit it: I am a hoarder. I hate to throw away anything because as soon as I do, I know I’ll need it. Could be an old receipt, a used cardboard box, a pretty empty container – as soon as it’s dumped there’s a need to have it back. But enough was enough. Continue reading

Just leave me a little love :)

At a Window

Carl Sandburg

Give me hunger,

O you gods that sit and give

The world its orders.

Give me hunger, pain and want,

Shut me out with shame and failure

From your doors of gold and fame,

Give me your shabbiest, weariest hunger!

But leave me a little love,

A voice to speak to me in the day end,

A hand to touch me in the dark room

Breaking the long loneliness.

In the dusk of day-shapes

Blurring the sunset,

One little wandering, western star

Thrust out from the changing shores of shadow.

Let me go to the window,

Watch there the day-shapes of dusk

And wait and know the coming

Of a little love.

I will be the gladdest thing

Under the sun!

I will touch a hundred flowers

And not pick one.
