PEACEThe word ‘peace’ according to the New Pocket Oxford Dictionary means “freedom from noise or anxiety, freedom from or the ending of war.”  When you hear the word ‘peace’ you may also initially think of other words such as: peaceable, peaceful, peacekeeper and peace offering.

If you are a parent or work in a super busy office filled with deadlines, projects and chattering people, your idea of peace (as in wishing for more of it) may include thoughts of: stillness, quiet, silence, calm, hush, seclusion, repose, serenity, contentment, harmony, agreement, amity.

War vs. Peace

I wouldn’t say that I’m a peaceful person by nature – way too verbally expressive and vocal most times – but I definitely would admit to trying to avoid conflict as much as possible.

The Boston Marathon and Why I Run
