It happened one day …

??????????????A man of God spoke to his co-workers on Friday evening of one week but never made it to work the following Monday.  He took ill and died suddenly on the Saturday night.  Everyone was in shock.  How could this be?  And not him of all people!

Most of all, they regretted not being able to thank him for being a great friend, a committed team player and a caring, thoughtful supervisor.  It was too late.  He would never know how much they appreciated having him in their lives, never hear the words of the many tributes offered on his behalf or enjoy the rich notes of the songs which were sung at his funeral.  Continue reading

The numbers are the numbers

It is the mark of a truly intelligent person to be moved by statistics.”

George Bernard Shaw

One of my managers has a saying: “The numbers are the numbers!” Sometimes I agree, sometimes I disagree – because a number may not necessarily reflect the amount of effort or time which has gone into a project or executing an event or even providing customer support.

And so I admit that even though I felt my stats left a lot to be desired when compared with other more awesome blogs during the year, my heart felt a wee bit happier in seeing the progression from 571 views in 2012 to 16515 in 2014.

I honestly can’t wait to experience 1000 views in any one day (or even one week for that matter); it would definitely be party time because we all want our words to reach out and touch as many people as possible. In reality, this is not always the case but until then I will look towards 2015 and continue to share with whoever passes by … I hope it will be you 🙂

2014 Stats

I love the stats helper monkeys who prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog. I’m inviting you to take a quick look.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 16,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 6 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

So I didn’t feel much like writing or posting for the last few weeks.  I tried, I really did but ended up losing the battle as lots of different things happened to take me away from writing, far less visiting some of my favourite blogs.  It was a deep bottomless funk which I struggled to get out of … I am only just getting my groove back on (sigh).

I’m hoping to get back on track this month, but in case you didn’t get a chance to pop in to see what was being shared when I did manage to write a note or two here are the top 5 posts for July (according to WordPress):

  1. Finding favor with God … and getting ready to enjoy His blessings
  2. Time for Summer Lovin’
  3. Once upon a time, they lived happily ever after … maybe
  4. R.I.P. Mom
  5. Are you discouraged? Consider taking 5 in 5

Last but not least and probably most important, here’s something to restore your faith and offer encouragement during the hot days of August: Every single of one us has a story 🙂

But do you have a blog?  And if so, what was your most viewed post for July?  Share the love with me here … and of course here’s to wishing you a: Happy Summer!
