Celebrating Faith, Family, Love, Laughter

My earth, my island, my home

The earth sings quietly

Sharing light, love, energy

This is my island.

Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books.

It’s only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth – and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up, we will then begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had.
~ Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

The Future is in the Harvest

Kidney beans after one week

I planted some red kidney beans last week Sunday and only one week later, here we are! I’m excitedly looking forward to harvesting my own beans sometime in the future.

Tomato seedlings

I planted tomato seeds for a friend the same day I planted my beans. I was surprised to see these little plants appear after only five days beneath the soil. She is going to be just as excited about her future harvest as I will be about mine 🙂

This week’s WordPress Photo Challenge asked us to focus on the future; click here to see more illustrations.
