Life is for Living Every Day

Celebrating Faith, Family, Love, Laughter

You posted THAT on Facebook??? Part I

Social media. It has its pros and of course its cons; you either love it or hate it. There’s Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and lots more all waiting for us to keep in touch – right?

Facebook for example has allowed me to keep in touch with people I haven’t seen since we left primary school more than 25 years ago. I can send you a hug if your mom dies or join in congratulating you on major achievements. I love watching your baby grow up and admire the fact that your marriage has lasted for more than a decade. I feel your pain when your pet dies but love the good news you share when you get home from church.

The downside is having to sift through tons and tons of sometimes silly and meaningless five-minute updates, where I am told about your every move and who you are with and how much you drank … seriously? You actually posted THAT on Facebook?

So here is Ellen’s take. It is funny and we laugh but there is a serious message here. Let’s remember ┬áthat social media is just that: S.O.C.I.A.L. aka some things can come back to haunt you on national television.

Enough said. But look out for Part II to this post.
