RIP My Purple Prince: Even Larger in Death – Remembering the Artist

I couldn’t believe the news. At first I thought it was a joke. Prince? Gone??!!!! How was that possible?

As I read the articles to confirm what a co-worker had told me, remembering the great music took me back down memory lane when I could not exist without him during my school days. He was with me every night as I studied, as I jumped up to dance a bit and relieve the stress of trying to understand exactly what Shakespeare was really trying to say, and as I finally drifted off to sleep.  I have sooooooo many favourite songs I didn’t know which of them to highlight but do enjoy the ones I’ve chosen. And don’t forget to click on this link to see Prince’s 40 biggest billboard hits.  YouTube here I come tonight; get ready 🙂

RIP Prince. You were an amazingly awesome artist and as for that guitar mastery …. spot on! Go make music among the heavens and remember to shower a little of that creativity down on us from time to time.

Before we go, check out this cute clip where he starred with The Muppets and learn a little more about him here.

But do you have a favourite Prince song? Then share it with us in the comments and thanks for visiting.

  2. “Little Red Corvette”… my favorite Prince song. Brings back many memories. I lived in Ft. Worth Texas in the early 80’s. His music was a big part of my life then. And I still watch “Purple Rain” whenever I know it is on. When I saw the headline today the first thought was (it is a hoax). He leaves an unbelievable legacy; seemingly his music will live on for many generations. What is so sad is his passing at a young age. Knowing he was sick, yet still performing with ‘flu-like’ symptoms. Fly high above purple clouds Prince- we will never forget you.

    • Yes Lisa, the clouds where he is now will definitely be purple and we will never forget him. I like Little Red Corvette as well and it was so hard today to come up with a top one or two or even three – his music was that awesome. Loved your tribute to Prince and thank you so much for visiting. Rock on 🙂
