“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)

Have you ever wondered about life and death? Suppose you were to die suddenly tomorrow have you thought about what would happen to your family or your friends? What about your material possessions? God forbid if everything you worked so hard for should end up in the wrong hands!

One of my favourite songs when growing up was “Time in a Bottle” by Jim Croce. Unfortunately Jim couldn’t save time in a bottle but he did have a list of all of the things he would have done if he could. I found the story behind Jim’s song quite interesting but held on to the words more so after losing my mom to pancreatic cancer in 2009. It was a totally unexpected and very long hard journey at the end of which we deeply regretted not having more time to spend with her.

There is no time like now. If there’s something you’ve been putting off doing, now is the time to do it. If there’s someone you’ve been meaning to call, now is the time to call. If there’s someone you need to forgive, thank, love more … I’m sure you get the picture because it doesn’t matter how many bottles we may have or the size of said bottles, we will never be able to save time no matter how hard we try. I would know.

While you think on these thoughts, pause for a moment to enjoy this beautifully expressed spoken word presentation by Matt Hammer entitled: If I Die Tomorrow … and than take action … today!

“In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”
Abraham Lincoln
