My two cents: It’s not about race.

It was a weekend we in Barbados will not forget. A woman goes running. She goes missing but is thankfully found after an extensive search effort. Much has been said, and there are probably many others who will make sure they have they say before the dust has settled. But I think this writer hits the proverbial nail on the head by offering a clearer sounder perspective. Whether you agree or not, this post definitely offers something to think about … just saying.

Dance and Dingolay

Now, I wasn’t going to comment on the recent missing person situation in Barbados for a couple of reasons. For one thing, I try to avoid subjects such as this because they are so emotionally charged and comments and opinions tend to get misconstrued. More importantly however, I feel like this is a deeply private matter and it must be extremely hard on the lady and her family to have it played out in such a public forum. I know one can make the argument that they brought it to the public’s attention but that doesn’t make any less difficult or unfortunate that what should be a private family matter is now fodder for arguments, debate and gossip. Therefore, as courtesy to Mrs. Harris and her family I will try to comment on this in broader terms because I do think that many of us are missing the point.
