What did they say? Quotes to Note

Here are some interesting quotes I came across this week.  I didn’t remember to note the sources for each one (I was so busy scribbling in my journal before my poor old brain forgot what I had read) but as you will see they were all quite thought provoking.

Do you do this as well?  Do you pause to write down thoughts or words that resonate deep within your soul?  Do you go back and read them from time to time?  Well if you don’t, let today be the first day of a super great journal!

You can’t be who you are not.

(From the TV series Scandal by Shonda Rhimes, Season 3 Episode 7)

Be true to your work and your work will be true to you.

Mark Maynard, Barbadian artist

The most difficult definition to break free from is self-definition.

Matt de la Peña, writer

That old law about ‘an eye for an eye’ leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.

Martin Luther King

If you feel ‘dog tired’ at night, maybe it’s because you growled all day.

Just because someone doesn’t love you the way you want them to, doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they have.

And then, there were some serious questions that jumped out at me:

  1. What can I give you that will make you stand taller or get up and do what you need to do?
  2. How can I strengthen you?
  3. What is your calling?
  4. Are you living while you’re alive?

Definitely food for thought … so how was your week?
