Month of Gratitude: Day 8

Do you have a loved one suffering from Alzheimer’s? Does he or she know who you are? If yes, what could you possibly find to be thankful for in such a situation? This post will tell you.

Quilt of Missing Memories

It’s our wedding anniversary in two weeks. A bittersweet occasion. Two years ago, I spent my 25th anniversary alone on a yoga mat.

Last year I picked up some Chinese takeout after work, grabbed my chopsticks, and ate with the dogs.

But this year I am grateful for a special Friday night invitation on our anniversary date. My husband’s group home is having a party for family members with lots of music and treats. It should be fun. I know my husband doesn’t know who I am anymore, but some of the other residents do. I’ll be able to visit with them.

And I’ll be able to share some sweet hugs with my husband.
