Peace. Something we long for in the midst of everyday life when we find ourselves struggling with the ‘war’ of parenting, balancing home with demanding careers, managing debt, or simply being a good partner.

When it looks as though you are about to be overwhelmed by a challenging situation:

  1. Stop
  2. Take a deep breath
  3. Turn to one of the verses shown below
  4. Let God take you in His arms and love you with all of His awesome heart for a little bit
  5. Then take up your yoke and move forward because now, everything is going to look a whole lot different.

Peace be still! 7 Verses for Peace

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. Psalm 23:1-3

“Surely, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and defense, he has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

The Lord bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

  2. Reblogged this on Living Life Day by Day … and commented:

Is your mind all over the place as you try to get as many things as possible done in the few moments you have ? Are you anxious? Overwhelmed? Stuck? Me too … but here’s a reminder that peace can be found even in the midst of “un-peaceful” chaotic moments.

“Happiness, true happiness, is an inner quality. It is a state of mind. If your mind is at peace, you are happy. If your mind is at peace, but you have nothing else, you can be happy. If you have everything the world can give – pleasure, possessions, power – but lack peace of mind, you can never be happy.” Dada Vaswani
