It’s simple really. Life is short but there’s lots to be done. As the global economy continues to worsen trust me: there will be someone to feed, clothe, nurse and comfort.
Has your neighbour lost their job and need help cutting their lawn? Has your co-worker missed an important deadline and need help photocopying a file or two? Has your pastor lost a loved one and need help with a hot meal or a greeting card showing your support? What about those in your immediate household e.g. your spouse/significant other or your children? What about your parents?
Think about it. There are many opportunities for us to share God’s love with others. It’s one of the main reasons I pen these posts so often: to offer hope and encouragement in a world of humans and situations destined to hurt and disappoint us – albeit intentionally.
So what will it be? Will you sit down and be placid in your daily living or will you go out and make the world a better place, one life at a time? The choice as you know is not only mine, but also yours.
There’s no better time than the present; let’s do this. Like seriously.
Verse for Reflection
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’”
Matthew 25:41-45 (NIV)
